I am a Danish native speaker who was born and brought up in Denmark. I have lived in Germany and since then here in England, where I have been for over 24 years . Whilst raising a family I studied German at The University of Exeter and graduated in 1999 with a 2:1 and a distinction in spoken German. The years following my graduation were spent pursuing a teaching career (Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Exeter) where I taught German and French for eleven years. Currently I am finishing my Masters in Translation at the University of Exeter where I have specialised in German literature and in subtitling a German film. In the Autumn I have been accepted by the University of Leicester to carry out a PhD in Scandinavian children's literature with a specific focus on Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Longstocking as a model for children. The focus within the PhD will be norm based and look at translations across four different languages (Swedish, Danish, German and English).
